VINTAGE CHINESE HAND PAINTED PORCELAIN BEADS NECKLACE
The featured item represents an export Chinese necklace that measures approximately 12" long measured on the inside. The necklace is made of 24 porcelain oval beads strung on hand knotted cord.
The beads are hand painted in underglaze blue with images of two fish and four Chinese characters "Ji qing you yu" that translates to luck, festivity, have, excess and the whole phrace to something like "May your happiness be without limit".
The character for prosperity, yu, is a homophone for the word for fish, yu.
The necklace come in wearable condition with no damages found on the beads but maybe normal vintage wear like some scuffs, marks and scratches as well as painting imperfections and small production flaws. The clasp is tied with a string and cannot be opened. I'm not sure why but it is possible because the tongue does not secure right.
